Become a Foster Hero and Transform Lives
Since 2018, our mission has been clear and resolute: to save the lives of dogs and cats from desperate situations and provide them with loving homes.
Based in the heart of Friendswood, Texas, our devoted team has touched the lives of over 14,000 animals, guiding them from life on the streets and overcrowded shelters to a brighter future through adoption, transport, and community outreach.
Why Foster?
Every dog and cat, regardless of breed or medical status, deserves a nurturing environment to thrive and find their forever home. Fostering offers a temporary home where pets receive love, care, and stability during a crucial transitional period. By opening your heart and home, you help create an environment where these animals can flourish, preparing them for their journey to a loving forever family,
Our Foster-Based Program: A Lifeline for Pets
Our foster system is the backbone of our rescue operations. While we have limited boarding facilities, our dedicated network of foster homes plays a crucial role in rescuing and rehabilitating animals. Fostering involves providing a safe, loving environment and basic training until we find an adopter. We offer support through experienced mentors, coordinators, and quarterly training sessions.
Cat Fostering
We’re especially in need of local fosters in the Houston area for both cats and dogs! By fostering, you provide a crucial bridge for these animals, giving them a safe and loving environment as they await their forever homes. While we also need fosters in the PNW and Northeast/East Coast, local support in Houston is more important than ever. If you’re ready to make a life-changing impact, please consider opening your home to a foster pet!
Open Your Home, Change a Life: Fosters Needed in the PNW & East Coast
We need compassionate fosters near our transport stops in the Pacific Northwest and East Coast to welcome dogs ready to start their new journey. By fostering these travel-ready pups, you help us focus on Houston dogs who need more time—those recovering from heartworm treatment, healing from injuries, or in quarantine. Your home can bridge the gap between rescue and a forever family. Every dog you foster creates space for another in urgent need of care. Together, we can save more lives, one dog and one loving foster home at a time. Will you open your heart and home to support our lifesaving mission?

Success Stories
Mabel- Behavior
When Mabel, a young black mouth cur mix arrived she was severely underweight and emotionally shut down. She showed signs of major anxiety, avoiding handlers and remaining tense even around other dogs. Experienced foster Tom took her in, pairing her with a calm, safe dog and giving her the time and guidance she needed to feel secure and learn to play. Over a year of patience and love, Mabel transformed—and has now found her forever home!
Popcorn- Feral
Popcorn, an orange tabby from South Houston, grew up feral in a shelter until Marcela, our PNW foster liaison, took her in. Now, at just over a year old, Popcorn has transformed into a friendly, confident "queen of the house" who adores chin scratches, cozy snuggles, and sunbathing by big windows. After starting off shy, Popcorn has become a total cuddle bug and is now ready for a forever home where she can be the center of attention—just as she likes it!
Merida- Medical
Merida, a tiny kitten with broken legs, had a rough start as no shelters were able to take her in. But with the care of a dedicated foster, she received the treatment and love she needed to heal and thrive. Now, Merida is fully recovered and happily adopted into a loving forever home!
Estrella- Behavior
Estrella Emily was rescued from a cruelty case while pregnant and terrified of everything—especially men. Initially aggressive towards men, she barked at my husband daily when he came home. However, she quickly bonded with our playful dog, Coco, and began to trust more through their interactions.
After nearly three months of patience and care from both Emily and Cindy, Estrella transformed into a happy dog who loved doing zoomies and even became comfortable at my group workout classes. Her journey was incredibly rewarding, and I’m thrilled to share that she has now found her perfect forever family. I continue to stay in touch with them, and Estrella is exactly where she belongs!
Oreo- Behavior
Oreo’s journey was a challenging one; he had been returned by three different owners and spent 123 days in boarding, where he struggled with reactivity on the leash and anxiety in his kennel. Jessica decided to take him home for a 120-day foster period, hoping to help him find his way.
When Oreo first arrived, he was visibly nervous, shaking and growling at Jessica’s kids. However, after just three days, he began to settle in and adapt to his new environment. With Jessica’s patience and dedication, Oreo flourished over the next four months, gaining confidence and learning to trust again.
Ultimately, Oreo’s transformation was a heartwarming success, and he finally found his forever home. His story is a beautiful reminder of the impact fostering can have on a dog’s life!
Noel- Medical
Last Christmas Eve, Noel was rescued from a gas station, where she was neglected and on the brink of death. She was one of the worst cases of emaciation we had ever seen, severely malnourished and fighting for her life. With love, care, and the support of a dedicated foster home, Noel made an incredible recovery! ❤️ Jodi, our director of community outreach, fostered her until she was ready for adoption. Now, Noel is thriving and living her best life with her new forever family, showcasing the transformative power of compassion and dedication in rescue!
