Outreach events

Supporting pets and their families.

Our outreach events help pet owners who cannot regularly access veterinary care while supporting disease control across the community. We work with animal-control departments and animal-welfare organizations to reach families where support is needed most.

At these events, teams provide flea medication, collars, leashes, and identification tags. Some pets arrive on makeshift leads such as electrical cords, so practical supplies can make an immediate difference in comfort and safety.

Low-cost or free spay and neuter services, prevention resources, and one-on-one education help families protect their pets and reduce overpopulation.

Partnerships and programs

Partnerships with local businesses, schools, community organizations, and Petco Love extend the rescue’s reach and make more resources available.

Presentations and workshops cover responsible pet ownership, animal care, and the importance of spaying and neutering. By sharing useful knowledge and connecting neighbors with services, the outreach team empowers the community to build a stronger safety net for pets.

Local Community Outreach: New Caney Area

Meeting people and pets where they are.

This outreach offers flea medication, spay/neuter services, and vaccines funded through Banfield and veterinary donations, giving pets essential preventive and population control care. It also provides pet food and dog houses for dogs living with houseless owners, and meals for their owners, offering support for both pets and the people who love them.

Partnering for change

We’re proud to work with Houston PetSet, The Empty Shelter Project, Girl & Boy Scouts of America, National Charity League, Honor Society members, and other community groups to strengthen our outreach network. We are expanding access to care and creating lasting change for pets and the people who love them.

Vaccine clinics

Each year, several Houston area clinics provide essential vaccines through the Petco Love partnership—bringing lifesaving preventive care to pets in underserved communities and helping families keep their animals healthy and protected.
